1/27/2024 0 Comments Sonic frontiers voiceRoger just nailed his performance so well in the context of the games story.really, idk why I'm posting this, it's just a realization I had. Idk, I feel it'd be weird to hear fan favorites like Jason Griffith or Ryan Drummond voice Sonic in Frontiers. Of course that's not the real reason, but for really feels like Sonic, along with his friends in this game has really grown, especially with the amount of games that's been confirmed canon now. I always thought as a kid whenever Sonic's characters voice actors change was meant to represent the characters got older, hence why Sonic has a more deeper sounding voice in colors. Sonic Frontiers is a game that mentions so much of Sonic's past, so much time has passed where I think Roger's deep voice as Sonic works perfectly. I know Roger Craig Smith isn't everyone's cup of tea, but Imma be honest.for Sonic Frontiers, I can't picture previous Sonic voice actors playing Sonic in this game. RELATED: ‘Sonic Frontiers’ Director Discusses Future Of The Series, Addresses Relying Too Much On Past Locations: We Will Look Into This As An Issue A former writer on the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comic, Flynn is the lead writer for IDW Publishing’s Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and Sega’s Sonic Frontiers. That last bit may be true, but unless Genshin Impact fans rally quickly (and the gap between the games did close a little today), it looks like Frontiers will win at least one non-imaginary award after all.Įven non-Sonic fans seem to be getting into the Sonic Sweep.I'm sure everyone here has their own favorite Sonic voice actor from the games. "For fans of the hedgehog, experiencing the game feels like winning a lifetime achievement award." "Sonic Frontiers won't win any awards, and it doesn’t need them," wrote Park in November. According to Gene Park at The Washington Post, Frontier's controls, soundtrack, "evocative" storytelling, and Sonic Adventures-style structure are a boon for long-time Sonic fans. PC Gamer's Sonic Frontiers review wasn't among the glowing ones, but there are lots of positive critic reviews. The divide between fans and professional critics isn't actually as chasmic as I thought it might be, though. Our anti-Sonic bias has been exposed! (Plus it released a bit late in the year.) The Game Awards says it mixes jury voting and public voting to avoid the winners being "socially engineered," and the Sonic fan lobby, which has also awarded Sonic Frontiers a higher Metacritic user score than Elden Ring, seems pretty good at coordinating its enthusiasm.Īn alternative interpretation, however, is that the Sonic Frontiers nomination snub means it has simply been under-appreciated by mainstream critics. From one perspective, that discrepancy illustrates why the main awards shouldn't be decided entirely by fan vote. The Player's Voice award, on the other hand, will probably go to Sonic Frontiers, which wasn't nominated for any other Game Awards. I previously thought that Ragnarok might have a chance at upsetting it, but if the public and jurors vote like they are in the Players' Voice voting, it won't come close. The Sonic Frontiers Cast Sonic the Hedgehog voiced by Roger Craig Smith and 1 other Sage voiced by Ryan Bartley and 1 other Amy Rose voiced by Cindy Robinson and 1 other Knuckles the Echidna voiced by Dave B Mitchell and 1 other Miles 'Tails' Prower voiced by Colleen OShaughnessey and 2 others Dr. It's pretty much a given that Elden Ring will win that category. The others in the GOTY category are Horizon Forbidden West, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Sonic Frontiers is not among the jury-selected nominees for TGA's overall Game of the Year award, although Elden Ring, God of War: Ragnarok, and Stray are. "Can we get a Sonic Sweep?!?!?!" wrote Sega senior PR manager Evan Bader on Twitter earlier today. We then get a glimpse into the vast open. God of War: Ragnarok is in fourth with 8%, and Stray has the last spot at 2%. In the new trailer, Sonic is being pursued by strange aircrafts before being guided to safety by a mysterious voice. In second place, Genshin Impact has 29%, and in third, Elden Ring has just 13%. Right now, the leader of that public vote is overwhelmingly Sonic Frontiers.Īfter coming out on top in the first two rounds, Sonic Frontiers has a whopping 48% of the votes in the third and final round of the Players' Voice award voting. As I sat in a corner of the convention center and. Original article (Monday, December 5): Most winners at Geoff Keighley's Game Awards are determined through a mix of public voting and jury selection-PC Gamer is one of those jurors-but one award, called Players' Voice, is entirely up to the public. I was at E3 2010 when I heard the news that Roger Craig Smith would be taking over as Sonics voice actor. My original story from Monday, when Sonic Frontiers still lead the Players' Voice voting, follows below.
